This past Monday Plurp Media hosted the very first edition of ‘The Tally Show’ in Tallahassee Florida at Amen-Ra’s Bookshop.
“The seats were filled,” remarks Chris Reed, Plurp Media’s web development director. “Everybody had a great time and it was just a great success.”
The night started with a poem by acclaimed poet Abraham Isaac. This was followed by south Florida musical artists Death Before Dishonor (DBD) performing their newest hit “Wave Em Around.”
Comedian Boafo Manu kept the crowd laughing with some of his newest jokes as the ‘Da Fat Boyz’ Djs helped set the mood of a great night. This was followed by the crowd-pleasing singer/guitarist Adwoa Manu and company, receiving a round of applause.
The night took a boost as co-host Cal Hankerman organized an impromptu musical masterpiece from The Tally Show Band and from the night’s background singers Brandi, Tiondria, and Akeem. The crowd was in awe as each instrument took an amazing solo.
Chicago born singer Amyna Love tore down the stage while singing Elle Varner’s “Only Wanna Give It To You” and then flawlessly performing her newest original “Forgive Me.” This was followed by an inspiring poem by ‘Marcell the Wordsmith’.
Singer Tiondria Cooper gave the crowd a heart-felt performance of Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy” which was then followed by the inimitable Gameface Get Em singing a few of his great hits including “Torque”.
The night left one question–”When is the next one?”.
“We dont know yet,” Cal Hankerman replied, “but expect the next one to be ten times better.”
Footage from the event is being edited and processed to be released on Plurp TV in February.
